The Natural

I wish I could say I am comfortable going out in public with natural hair and make-up….no products, just what God gave me.  But I’m not. Yet.

However, there’s something freeing about having your face freshly scrubbed, clean hair, and the skin color you were born with. I like the feeling of being natural and fresh, and I’ve started getting much pickier about the products I try, use, and recommend.  I live in a family of vegetarian holistic types, which has opened my eyes to what I put on my skin, hair, and in my body.  I’ve discovered the wonderful world of oils for lots of uses: coconut oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil. I’ve discovered a few healthy recipes that can still pass as desserts.  And I’ve begun reading labels to find out what exactly is in the products I use.

So, when I received a free sample of Seventh Generation Skin Serum from Lucky and Seventh Generation for use in connection with this blog, I was excited. I actually recognized ALL the ingredients! Nothing I couldn’t pronounce, nothing I couldn’t feel good about putting on my skin.  Brilliant! The oat extract in the soothing serum is especially calming to the skin, which is great after a day of my skin subjected to sun, smog, sweat, and cosmetic build-up.  It’s light, it’s moisturizing, and it’s affordable! Finally…a natural product that isn’t going to drain your wallet, and you can find it at your local Walgreens.
