Saturday was my 30th birthday! I decided months ago that what I wanted most was to have all of the people I love in the same place to celebrate with me. I did a ton of research and found the perfect rooftop spot. Although a few of my favorites weren't able to make it, I was surrounded by so many of the most important people in my life and it was an absolutely amazing night full of love and laughter.

One of the most challenging things was figuring out what to wear. My friends were shocked when I still didn't know what I was wearing two weeks out. The problem was, I had a really specific idea in my head of what I wanted to wear, and I just couldn't find it. After a particularly frustrating post-work dress search, I decided that Nordstrom Rack would be the last place I would look. If I didn't find anything there, I would just wear something I already owned. When I got there, they were closing early for inventory. But, not willing to give up, I tried again a few days later and found two dresses, including this one. It's playful without being immature, and it made me feel beautiful. It was the perfect "it's my party" dress! Also, proof that if you know what you want (in your closet or in life), don't give up until you find it!
