If there's one thing that will never go out of style, it's a good black & white ensemble. Seriously, it's timeless and chic, but can still be modern and funky if you want.
However, "too much of a good thing" is a very real problem and I was afraid this outfit might go in that direction, but was pleasantly surprised.
Stripes on stripes can definitely be a do, but I was afraid the matching colors might be too much. The key here was the size of the stripes, which helps differentiate the pieces. You could also match horizontal and vertical stripes in black and white to help break things up a bit as well.
I bought this skirt at Target a few weeks ago actually, but have yet to wear it. I keep trying it on with different pieces, but nothing felt right.
This week though, it got a little cooler and there was a nice breeze so a blazer made sense. And suddenly the whole outfit came together.
The blazer also helps to balance out all the leg I'm showing in the mini skirt. If you're going to be showing a lot of leg, you'll want to cover up a bit more on top. I also like to anchor the look with flats when wearing a short skirt as well.
What do you think? Have you ever mixed stripes? Tell me in the comments below!
