Now that the dust from the Lilly Pultizer for Target fiasco has settled, I've finally worn my first & only Lilly dress. I stayed up late the night it launched and luckily was able to get my hands on this dress and two pairs of shoes.
I've never owned a "real" Lilly Putlizer dress so I have nothing to compare this one to, but overall I think it was a pretty good quality collection (I've heard dome quips about quality with Target collaborations in the past). My only complaint was that it creased pretty easily once I sat, but I'm sure that's true for any cotton shift dress.
The hardest thing for me was trying to figure out where to wear it and how to style it. I don't live in the South and never go out for brunch, so I thought I'd take a crack at wearing it to work. I'm lucky to work in a business casual office (I'd never wear this to a formal office).
The dress is a statement in and of itself so I decided to anchor it with all white accessories, like this blazer & mules from Forever 21. Initially I had added some simple jewelry, but then decided to go the Coco Chanel route & take off those items.
