***Disclosure: I received a free sample of this product from Lucky & Seventh Generation for use in connection with this blog.
Hi everyone,
You guys know, I am continuously on the lookout for products that can improve and regenerate my skin. Fine lines and loss of firmness are no one's cup of tea. Even though I try to age gracefully, I am also trying my best to stop Father Time from getting here sooner than he should. So, I have been testing a new product I received courtesy of Lucky & Seventh Generation for review for the last couple of weeks. Now that I have been trying it for a while, I decided to share with you what my thoughts are about the Seventh Generation Natural Skin Care Boosts in Firming and, also, do a quick & natural makeup look for those who are always on-the-go.
Luckily, I was chosen to be sent this product to test out for you guys. Hey, aging has some perks too! And I have to say, I was really excited to receive this product in the mail because not very many people know about these serums yet since they are fairly new in the market. Upon researching it before I got it, I saw Seventh Generation has total of 6 boosting serums to choose from depending on what you are trying to achieve: Hydrating, Soothing, Clearing, Firming, Revitalizing, and Protecting. I like that they have so many options available. But, let's go ahead & move onto the review part of this post.

What Seventh Generation claims, "Firming Boost is formulated with nature's remedy for rejuvenated-looking skin. Made with Baobab oil to deeply nourish and Brown Algae to provide collagen, Firming Boost promotes increased skin firmness and elasticity by improving water retention and maintaining moisture balance."
The company also claims the following:
• Highly concentrated - no water added
• Absorbs quickly
• Won't clog pores
• Free of parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances
• Hypoallergenic
• USDA-certified 100% Biobased
• Not tested on animals. No animal ingredients
All the claims they made had me intrigued. So, I decided to begin this treatment right after I had a slight issue with the skin care product I was trying before *boo* Do you guys wanna know what I think about this product? Just keep reading...
Packaging |
Price Point?
This product is rather inexpensive for the amount of product you get. The suggested retail price is $14.99 for 1.5 fl. oz. I thought that was not expensive at all considering the fact that it has a decent amount of product and you don't need a lot of it for it to perform. Because of this, it's really long-lasting.
Where can you find it?
This product has been available since the beginning of July 2013 exclusively at Walgreens and Walgreens.com
How is the packaging?
My favorite thing about the packaging is that, although it doesn't come with a lid, it's spill-proof. The dispenser can be locked to prevent the pump from accidentally activating and spilling the serum. It's very convenient for travel - it's small and made of sturdy plastic, which prevents it from breaking. Also, the pump is not hard to work. Overall, it's very user-friendly.
Container |
What active ingredients does it contain?
Surprisingly enough, every single ingredient is natural. No funky chemicals. No gimmicks!
Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel) - Used on the skin to improve its condition.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) - Good for application to the skin as an emollient.
Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) - Effective for controlling moisture of the skin.
Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) - Ideal for treating dry or damaged skin because it's packed with Omega 3, 6 & 9. Helps improve elasticity, encourages regeneration of skin cells, and does not clog pores. Combatant against skin aging.
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) - Closely resembles human sebum. Because of this, it absorbs easily into the skin without clogging pores and without being greasy or tacky. It doesn't aggravate acne & it's well-tolerated by any skin type.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) - Has calming, emollient, and smoothing properties. High vitamin E content.
Mentha Arvensis (Mint) - Good antiseptic, antipruritic, and antimicrobial properties. Also, excellent skin cleanser & soother.
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) - Tonic & astringent properties. Reduces skin fragility & increases circulation. It also contains antioxidants that reduce damage caused by free radicals.
Padina Pavonica Thallus (Algae) - Antioxidant benefits. Packed with proteins & vitamins. Especially suitable for sensitive & irritated skin.
My skin before...
I have oily skin. I don't have any allergies to most cosmetics. It's rare when I get a reaction to any cosmetic or skin care.
How do you apply this product?
Right out of the shower, on damp skin. I get 2 pumps right on my fingertips, distribute all over my face & bring it all the way down to my neck.
Right after washing my face & applying Seventh Generation |
How long did you test the product?
I have been using it for about 2 weeks non-stop.
Did you notice any VISIBLE changes on your skin?
I must say I DID!! And in a very short period of time too! It only took about a week for my skin to actually start looking a lot more improved, supple, and more firm. I'm very impressed!
How well did this product perform overall on your skin?
Although this product is not diluted, it still felt very comfortable on my skin. It did not leave a greasy film at all. Also, it has a very slight minty scent that is actually quite pleasing and not overwhelming at all. I quite like it, actually☺
Are there any cons?
The only thing I can think of is that this is a product intended for people who are barely noticing fine lines, slight discoloration of the skin, or their skin firmness has only started to change due to aging. I don't believe this product will take care of people with deep wrinkles or with fully aged skin. It's too light to be a heavy-duty anti-aging product.
Also, it does take a bit to settle into the skin because it's not a lotion, it's a serum. At first, it did throw me off a bit because I had never worked with a serum before, but I do really like how my skin performs once the product is absorbed. If you don't want to wait for the product to sink in, I recommend you mix 1 pump of the serum with your regular face lotion/cream for faster absorption. Easy fix!
What are your overall thoughts?
Overall, I am rather impressed with this product. It has taken care of the firmness on my skin in a very short period of time. As I type this, I am touching my face and noticing how different it feels from a few weeks ago. It has definitely changed the appearance and feel of my skin.
Although I know my fine lines won't completely disappear, they have gotten slightly better. Their appearance has improved and don't look as deep as they did before. I know I will not wait for the bottle to be on the last drop before I go back to buy more. This product works!
Now that I have reviewed the Seventh Generation Natural Skin Care Boost in Firming, let's go ahead and check out the natural makeup look I did with it!
