So, I realize this could be misconstrued as gloating, but watching the news last night and learning more about the historic blizzard pummeling the Northeast, I am just so glad I live in California. Although, SF is not without its own weather woes, remember “hella storm” last December? Well, in case you missed it, the storm was really not that bad. Every news station was making a giant deal about this “historic storm” and really, this image (please click that link, its actually pretty funny!) circulating the internet pretty much sums up how bad it was. Not even in the realm of what the Northeast is dealing with. Anyways, now that I am done teasing San Francisco’s experience with extreme weather, back to the real story. Watching the news last night has taught me new words to describe weather, including “bombogenesis.” In case this word is also new to you, “bombogenesis, or a giant snow bomb effect, occurs when a storm’s area of lowest surface pressure experiences a rapid drop of more than 24 millibars in 24 hours.” Makes you just miss the simplicity of “polar vortex,” right?
Well now that I am done talking about weather, guess we have hit an all time low in the conversation department on GSOL, I wanted to share with you that I am submitting these images to Lucky Magazine’s “Winter White” competition! Wish me luck!
