I am a white tshirt slut. The 50s and the 90s were white tshirt moments that stay in my mind when dealing with the blank cotton canvas. I think the best basic outfit is a white tshirt of some kind with dark wash denim jeans cuffed at the ankle. You can go anywhere from there.
One tee to rule them all, one tee to bind them...
I admit to keeping my white tee looks to wholesome, clean living type outfits that always smack of 50s innocence.
All-American Clean, no stress.
I've also styled photo shoots with white tees:
I took these in the Humboldt Park area of Chicago in 2009. 1) Erin's look is teaked with some leather turkish style slippers I had lying around. t's red, white and blue with some international flair 2) Hope is rocking my fave staple, the cardi over her white tee. the skirt was from some target design collab. 3) Lexie does festival before festival was hot. The blazer, shorts, belt, and bracelet were all from my styling stash. And yes, this is Lexie Tomchek that was on ANTM Cycle 15.
I also had a project where I asked models to wear white tees to their test shoots with me. Some people styled themselves:
1)) Charlotte went for the cardi/coat and a statement necklace. I love it! 2) Jordan kept it very "teen model off duty' with a grey hoodie and bootcut jeans. 3) Lina went bad girl sexy with her faux lather jacket. Nice, right?
Most kept it supersimple basic, so it was kind of like a Calvin Klein ad series:
Janelle, Jen and Jaymie were some of my fave examples of how a lain white tee can be the sexiest thing you own.
