The Gingham Update- Asian influenced minidress (at the China:Through the Looking Glass exhibit, naturally)

My friends at Khromato sent over this damask print halter back minidress ($26.99) I couldn't wait to style it up and show it off. Back in the 90s there was a trend towards Asian themed pieces like cheongsams and the like, and right NOW in 2015, there's a whole fashion retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art about Chinese fashion. How perfect, right?

I decided to wrap the halter tie around the front and pinned it with this brooch from Jade & Jasper, which went really well with the sparkly self-belt of the Khromato dress.

I threw on the Southern Tide gingham shirt ($99) and rolled up the sleeves then stepped onto my Jasmine wedge heels from Ami Clubwear. I wore a neutral clutch from Shop Jacqueline Rose with a natural sparkly druzy stone. Makeup was kept simple and neutral, except for the Iridescent Blue line of Makeup Forever Aquamatic Waterproof Glide on Eyeshadow to pick up the blue in the shirt.

I packed my Panasonic Mobile Charger ($59.99) to charge up my phones on-the-go, and took off. I was so psyched!!

And most wonderful of all, you can take all the photos you want in the show. The show is in the basement and on the second floor of the Met, with a few surprise pockets so you have to be a fashion detective to find it all.

I was all over the place, lol! I couldn't help taking a few more selfies on the second floor, where the lighting is insanely flattering.

If you're going to be in New York, make sure you check out this most amazing exhibit! China:Through The Looking Glass is up until September 7th, 2015.

Until next time...
