Red Dress, Black Balloons

I would be tempted to begin this post with a wish of "Happy Valentines Day," or "Happy NYFW" but if you live in NYC or anywhere near it, I think it might be even more thoughtful to say "Be careful out there and don't slip on any ice or get too close to cars that could easily slush up your outfit." Yeah... not too festive sounding, is it?

So instead I'll just say hooray to the relaunch of Lucky Community. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more, especially now that the page is more curated with themed posts. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it before too, but there were so many posts it really was impossible to keep up with. Even if some people might end up feeling slighted (and yes I'm aware that might also mean me), sometimes less really is more.

As for the above illustration, I created it for an exhibition that ran for a few days last week called Postcards from the Edge. That's an annual event aimed at raising money for AIDS awareness through art. I've been told it sold so hopefully the organizers will accept one of my works next year.
