If you know me at all, you know that I’m a self proclaimed Maxxinista. On an average week I can be found at my local store at least once and more often than not I come home with a goodie … or two, or three.
The other week when I was perusing the racks, I was considering how I could seriously use a few more business-causal tops. I work in a very casual startup, so there is no real divide between my work and weekend wardrobes. What you see me wearing in my free time is what you also see me wearing during work hours. That is unless you find me at the beach or the gym. But I digress
So as I’m flipping through hangers, I looked across the women’s section and saw the most fabulous blazer/jacket situation on display. (Faux) leather sleeves, tweed body and a peplum waist were calling my name. It’s the perfect jacket to dress up for work or down for a weekend brunch. Naturally, I added it to my “yes” pile. And then I glanced to the right a bit more and saw the most adorable blouse with a scalloped hem. I knew instantly that the blouse and jacket would work wonderfully together as well as blend into the rest of my wardrobe seamlessly. We rode off together into the sunset.
Oh and one thing before you bring it up. I know I should have ironed my blouse, but that would require owning one. Moving on.

So far I’ve received approximately one zillion compliments on my jacket and also styled my blouse with a chunky knit, open-faced cardigan. Spoiler, it looked adorable that way too.
How do you work leather (either real or faux) into your wardrobe?
