Ugh, it was beautiful here in PA for a few weeks (I'm talking 80 degrees & sunny!), but now we're back down into colder spring weather... it's barely 60 degrees here now as I type this.
While I love color and print in dresses, I've always been a jeans & t-shirt girl at heart. They're the perfect K.I.S.S. Principle outfit, which stands for Keep It Simple Stupid, an acronym that came out of the 1960s Navy production line.
Keeping it simple doesn't mean you're stupid, in fact, the phrase actually means the opposite and wasn't meant to create a more effective line of production. For an outfit, if you choose the right pieces a simple outfit can be a great outfit - even a chic one!
For instance, for many people jeans & a tee equate comfort and some may be tempted to pick a pair of holey boyfriend jeans and super comfy, but very worn & faded, tee. But you can easily take things up a notch & maintain comfort levels.
These jeans from Modcloth are a recent discovery for me and I love them! They got a ton of great reviews on the site so I decided to splurge. They're a dark wash (more professional!), higher waist (no muffin top here!), and have a good amount of stretch to them (comfy!).
A white tee is classic, but a boatneck, 3/4 sleeve version takes things up a notch. I scored this one from Gap on sale last year and love it for days off. Paired with delicate gold jewelry (this bracelet is from one of my recent Rockbox) and my new Lilly for Target wedges and I have a "simple stupid" yet chic look.
P.S. Swap out the wedges for strappy sandals on the weekend to maintain comfort without sacrificing style.
