It's fall, but my little houseplants from he summer are still growing and blooming. When I thought of bold patterns, I remembered my Desigual x Lacroix jacket and how, underneath it's monochromatic exterior, a garden blooms in the lining.
This would be a go-to outfit for the NYC Ballet or a Metropolitan Museum of Art opening. I just got an IDNYC card, so my thoughts are about drssing up for cultural events right now.
I decided to combine the coat with a black mini-dress with a gold chain print from Ami Clubwear. Then I used my souvenir scarf from Desigual's aw2015 show t add even more flower power.
I chose these soft, dove grey Ami Clubwear heels to finish and ground the ensemble. I just love them so much. And since I just tested a new product called Still Standing that will make it easier for me to wear heels, I won't chicken out and wear flats.
I would use my latest discovery, Kure Bazaar to create some kind of fantastic nail art to go with this outfit. I saw this French brand of eco-friendly polish on twitter one day and fell madly in love. My family is Caribbean, so I grew up on super saturated colors in unexpected combinations. The photos from Kure Bazaar's fall collection (Saffron, Kale and Lipstick) remind me of the time my mom painted our tv room in gold and melon. sounds weird, looked awesome.
The other thing that I'm adoring about these polishes is that the creator, model Kartika, dreamed up the brand while she was pregnant with her son. She wanted a natural-based nail polish formula to wear and created this color-drenched line that has no tulene, no formaldehyde, no dibutyl pthalate or synthetic camphor. The formula is almost 85% of natural origin! And it's French, don't forget that part!
