A leather jacket is the perfect substitute to a large winter coat for those outfits that you just don't want to cover up fully.  I wore a simple, yet pretty fancy, romper to a night-time event recently and my cropped, moto-style jacket was perfect to finish off the look.  It kept my bare shoulders warm and even dressed down the look a bit, which I liked.  Sometimes, I even layer my leather jacket under my bulkier winter coats for added warmth while I'm in route and then I just slip it off once I arrive to wherever I'm going.  Throw on a faux-fur stole over top of one and you have the perfect winter-chic look!
