I recently had the pleasure of attending a local charity event, In Christy’s Shoes, with local blogger, Terri Watters of Mommy, Wife & Life. She was kind enough to invite me and I’m so happy that she did!
The dress code for the event was cocktail attire. When Terri shared this with me, I immediately pictured a room full of women in black dresses and, if you know me, all black without a pop of color was not going to fly. Plus I’ve learned in the past year, it is in my best interest to represent my brand in some way whenever I step outside of my apartment.
Now, the kicker was that attendees were encouraged to wear their most bad-ass shoes. I mean, the organization’s name is ‘In Christy’s Shoes‘ plus their goal is to inspire women in challenging circumstances to walk in their shoes with confidence, strength and stability. Technically, that’s not my best department, shoes that is. I simply love combat boots, wedges and gladiator heels or sandals. However, I am no stranger to confidence so I opted to wear one of my favorite pairs of shoes and expressed my strength with my outfit.
