If you would've told me a year ago that I would be wearing navy and black together, I would've told you, "Never in a million years". Either I've blasted really far into the future, which I highly doubt since I haven't seen Leela or Bender, or I've done what I always do to keep my style fresh and that is to try something new. Now this is no new concept here on Lil Miss JB Style, check out my post on how to avoid a style rut if you don't believe me, trying new things is the key to getting more in touch with your personal style.
You can't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try new things when it comes to your style, like I did with this navy and black combo. The trick to finding your style is to experiment! My favorite thing to do on a day off is to meander around the mall and try on all the new styles or colors of clothes that I had previously been skeptical about. The best thing is there is no pressure to buy anything and you leave with a better sense of your personal preferences.
A small exercise that you can do in the comfort of your home to help you find your style is to spend some time thinking about your go-to outfits that make you feel great and write down why they make you feel so good. Is it the material, the cut, the color, be as specific as possible. Then the next time you go shopping take that list with you to help you decide what to buy!
Finding your style doesn't have to be hard, having a stylist like myself can make it a heck of a lot easier, but you do have to put in work before your style can become truly effortless. Having trouble with your style? Shoot me your question in the comments or via e-mail for me to answer in my monthly Q&A session!
