A plain white tee is like a good piece of white bread. It's fine all by itself, but then you introduce cheese into the situation and everything is better.
This white maternity t-shirt from GAP is great all by itself. I've worn it under blazers, paired it with statement necklaces, rocked it with boyfriend jeans, but then you get a great "piece of cheese" like this striped tank top underneath and it gives the shirt a whole new look.
Right now I'm doing my best to stretch a slim maternity wardrobe so the more ways I can wear a simple t-shirt the better.
Instead of trying to fight the sheerness of the shirt, I used it to my advantage and let this striped top show through. Try this layering trick with any boldly patterned tank, because the white top will gently mute the pattern creating a whole new look and getting you more mileage out of both pieces.
Dress it up even further by adding a colorful statement necklace (this one came from Rue21).
P.S: The clutch pictured is actually an Ipsy bag. That's right, I was in desperate need of a tiny purse one day, when I looked on my dresser and saw this bag. It works perfect!
