I don't know about you, but I was not quick to embrace the current crop top trend. Fashion disaster flashbacks from the nineties immediately came to mind! However, I have learned how to rock the crop top in a flattering and classy way. Today I want to share with you some of my top tips for attractively showing your midfriff:

1. Go for a loose fit.

Always look for a crop top that has a loose fit. You don't want it falling off of you by any means, but tight crop tops tend to look unclassy. A nice fitting top with room to breath leaves more to the imagination. You are already showing some skin, so there is no need to show off even more of your shape.

2. Don't go too cropped.

There is a fine line between a crop top and a too cropped top. You do not want to show more than a few inches of skin at the top's shortest point, with one inch or less around the rest of the top being preferable. The best crop tops are actually the ones that show only the front portion of your midriff and entirely cover the sides and back of your waistline, showing only a small sliver of skin.

3. Pair it with a high-waisted skirt.

Crop tops look best paired with high waisted skirts, whether they be pencil or mini. You do NOT want your belly button showing! A fitted skirt will balance out your loose fitting crop top very nicely.

I hope these brief tips are helpful to your crop top search! I think this top by Lovers + Friends fits the bill perfectly. Its loose fit and flattering cut guarantee that you stay looking classy. What do you think of the crop top trend?
