Oh to be young again! August always reminds me of the times I use to get ready to shop for my back-to-school wardrobe. I always went with the preppy look and when I came across this blouse from Forever 21, I knew I had to make my school statement look a comeback.

What makes a preppy look preppy you may ask? For starters, the big bow! Recently, big bows have become a trend. They are the signature piece to achieve the preppy style. Because it is still summer, over the knee socks are the best alternative instead of wearing boots. I am a very short person (hint 5′1) thus, the majority of the time, my over the knee socks actually go above my thighs haha. I fold them to avoid this from happening but also to give it my own touch.

To finish this look, I decided to style it with a pair of coral shorts. Shorts are convenient, especially if you love to skip a lot like I do, during the summer.
