Make That Statement

This weekend has been crazy and cold.

If you are East Coast bound like me, it has been below zero and thinking warm is the only way to survive.

Dreaming of warmth and yearning for it would make me herbiernate all weekend which is not an option.

I had plans to go out and explore with my girls and did that with a statement look.

I secretly wished I was in Fashion Week admiring all the looks but instead I was in New York City admiring from far and watching photos on Instagram.

Thanks to social media for allowing me to be part of such a great weekend of fashion.

In the spirit of fashion week I made my time in the city the best.

Flannel is my go to option when it is below zero. It makes you feel so warm and cozy and here is a way to dress it up.

I wore my flannel with a colorful necklace and a cameo ring. I had to wear red for this weekend filled with love.

Paired it with a grey pleated skirt which flowed nicely in this weather. I wore a beige clutch and bronze bracelet that added simplicity to this look.

I keep my legs warm with fun pattern tights in this weather. I love wearing skirts and you can wear them in all weather. These plaid tights make a great contrast with this solid color skirt. The best way to make these tights stand out is by matching it with these blue flats. My love of blue is declared with these tights and shoes.

I finished up this outfit with these green earrings and hat. I decided to shoot all my pictures outside this weekend so I had to wear this trapper hat. It is such a warm hat and brought a twist to this outfit. Fargo meets city girl in the cold streets of New York City.
